June 2, Dave& Lisa Jessing, Dave& Elaine Stanley, Bob& Ellen Malizia, Patrick Sidorchuk and Karen Blihar cruised on up to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for their car show and meet Roger and Linda Luczak there; that had gone up a day earlier. We stayed at the Staybridge suites, two large master bedrooms with bath and kitchen, living room area which was very nice and for the right price. There was a pool, workout room and a large continental breakfast.
Friday night there was a BBQ at the motorcycle burnout bar called Suck Bang and Blow. Yes, that's right, we couldn't believe it ourselves! Members of the FCC at Suck Bang and Blow drinking, eating BBQ and watching corvette burnouts inside a building. Boy! What a memorable night! Cars burning rubber and spinning their tires as the room (the size of a warehouse) filled with smoke. Now we had a contest going for $300. There were 5 cars in the finals, some were good and some not so good; as one guy with his 2006 white corvette tried 4 times to burn rubber and the last time smashed into the side rail then backed up over his bumper and quarter panel to flatten it further as he tried to get away. We left there unable to breath, as we walked out side the building it was smoking as if it was on fire. We meet Linda and Sam who were in our club 2 years ago before they moved to SC.; it was nice to spend some time with them and they said hi to all.
Saturday morning as we woke it was raining but after breakfast it stopped and we had a lovely day the sun came out and all. We cleaned the cars and drove to The Hard Rock Café where the show was being held. This was Peoples Choice broken down into classes. They had a 50/50 for $450 and raffle tickets every half hour. The DJ played and the people were very nice. Everything went as planned but the awards were to be giving out that evening at the Country Club. They had a 20 mile cruise along the beach and around the city. We got separated from the beginning of the line and Patrick led the packed of 20 cars on the cruise around SC. and managed to catch up with the others when we couldn't even see them. Why were these people following Patrick with a FL license plate in SC.? I don't know but it all worked out and Patrick found his way. Later that night was the banquet buffet which they served fish, chicken, prime rib and much more. The food was very good. Patrick and Karen won first place trophy for C3. Roger and Linda won first place trophy for C6. Lisa and Dave won third place trophy for C5.
We left in the morning and caravanned back and again we had great weather all the way home. Some stayed one more day and left on Monday. All in all we had a great trip and it was a very nice show that I would recommend you try to get to some day.
