Story and Photos by Kevin & Carol Hoolihan

We at the Haine's City exit about 6:00 PM on Friday and headed out for Sarasota about 6:30 PM. However others like Alan, Laura Theabold and David, Elaine Stanley arrived at the Gulf Breeze Motel earlier in the day say around 3:00 to decorated the Honeymooners room. Decorations consisted of a poster that covered the front door to the room announcing "Honeymoon in Progress," red write on window chalk, extra strength wedding night enhancement mints, "Newlyweds' Guide to Sex on the First Night," 52 Weeks of Romance and a beautiful card. The big screen TV was replaced with a complete wall mirror.
The rest of us stopped in Lakeland where the Hoolihan's were able to catch up with us. That's no typo. Kevin and Carol decided after many months of wedding plans to elope Friday at 3:00 at the First Presbyterian Church in Orlando.
We arrived at the Gulf Breeze Motel about 9:00 PM. and was met by Forester who ran the motel. We took turns borrowing coffee, creamer and sugar from each other, and Forester when he wasn't looking we took some from the lobby. While some of us were cleaning our cars for Saturday's show others were in their rooms preparing for a long life together and working on the ups and downs of marriage. This was like a little mini-honeymoon for the Hoolihan's.
We walked over to the Ramada Inn for dinner. I should mention the Ramada Inn displayed on the marque that they we "Welcoming all families and friends of the Newlyweds." It was only fitting that we would eat there. Then it was to bed.
Everyone was up about 6:30 am Saturday to clean their cars and then we all caravanned over to the circle for the show. There were about 209 cars registered. Some of the participants came as far away as Kentucky. It was a hot but very enjoyable day. There were lots of stores for shopping and plenty of places for eating, there just wasn't any cheap cigarettes as Laura found out. Nothing but the best for this club. Ray and Lorraine Ingrassia won the 50/50 which gave then a hefty win of $350.00. It might have only been $50.00 as I am not sure that's how much Ray told Lorraine they had won. Lorraine was not there at the time of their win as she was out shopping for underwear for Ray. That's another story that I don't have time to get into. Dave & Elaine Stanley won the 6th place trophy for the C-5 class. The show ended about 4:00 PM and everyone headed back to the motel.
The group had a wedding reception for the newlyweds which consisted of at least seven different kinds of pizza's and at least that many kinds of wine and beer. Things were topped off with a beautiful wedding cake. And Jim Bott tried to toast the newly weds but the Stanley's had to intervene as they had many more years of martial bliss. The toast was made using various styro foam, plastic, aluminum glasses and stainless steel containers filled with Spumonte Champagne. Nothing was over looked. Everything was top rate. We did however have one party crasher. It turned out she came to give the newly weds a present. A prefilled coffee filter. The party was brought to an all time high. As a beautiful sunset was enjoyed by all. As the evening wore on, couples left the pool area and vanished in the night. Some stopped swimming earlier as a little kid left a present floating on the bottom of the pool.
We again rallied the next morning by 9:00 to have breakfast at the Ramada Inn and say our good byes. Some took the scenic route and others took to the Interstate. It was a great time by all. Thanks to all the members who went.
